Good drying matters just as much as the wash itself — damp fibre can cause smell and even mould even after a thorough clean. Usually 8–24 hours with proper ventilation is enough. Tel. 062 110 999.

What is the problem?

Early foot traffic, plastic covers, or hot air blown up close prolong drying or trap moisture in the underlay, which later turns into a smell.

The solution

Recover the solution as thoroughly as possible during cleaning, then move the air with cross-ventilation or a fan — not a heater right next to the carpet.

How does it work?

  1. Run a dry vacuum over the carpet again after cleaning, if the equipment allows — it shortens drying time.
  2. Open windows on opposite sides of the room for cross-ventilation.
  3. Point a fan over the carpet, not directly at a single spot.
  4. Keep foot traffic off the damp surface — it presses soil back in and leaves footprints.
  5. Judge colour and smell only once the carpet feels fully dry to the touch.

Why Puzzis.lt?

How Long Drying Takes

A thinner carpet with good ventilation can dry in 6–8 hours, while a thick, dense pile may take a full day or more. The time depends mostly on how much moisture was left after cleaning, not the fabric type itself.

If the solution was recovered well during cleaning, drying is always faster — so good suction during the wash matters more than any drying trick afterward.

How to Speed It Up Without Damage

Cross-ventilation (two opposite windows) moves air more effectively than a single open window. A fan aimed across the surface also speeds up evaporation without any risk of overheating.

Avoid direct hot air from hairdryers or heaters close to the carpet — such 'quick' drying can stiffen the fibre or warp the backing, especially in glued-down carpets.

Frequently asked questions

How long does drying a carpet take?

Usually 8–24 hours, depending on thickness, ventilation, and how thoroughly moisture was recovered.

Can I use a heater to speed up drying?

Better not up close — direct heat can deform the fibre. A fan is safer.

Why does the carpet smell damp after drying?

It usually means moisture reached the underlay or floor — longer ventilation is needed.

Can I walk on a half-dry carpet?

Better not — it presses soil back in and can leave footprint marks.

How can I shorten drying time?

Good suction during cleaning plus cross-ventilation afterward is the most effective combination.

What if the stain did not come out?

If the stain remains after the first pass — a second chemistry portion is free during the same rental (at pickup / return).

How soon is the deposit refunded?

The same day you return the equipment undamaged (cash or transfer — as you paid).
